Initial testing of autonomous shuttles by the working group "Accompanying research into autonomous driving in public transport".
The "Accompanying research into autonomous driving in public transport" working group had the opportunity to test autonomous shuttles live for the first time. The KIRA project, which operates an on-demand service in southern Hessen, had provided six NIO vehicles (with Mobileye stack) for journeys, with safety drivers on board who did not have to intervene. After a year and a half of testing and a steep learning curve, everything worked smoothly. The future is closer than you think!
