Mobility in South Westphalia - what moves the region?

Five projects that were funded as part of the Südwestfalen-Regionale 2025 presented their final results in Menden (Sauerland) on April 24, 2026. The NeMo.bil project was also on site with Fabian Adelt and Johannes Weyer from TU Dortmund University and showed perspectives on how mobility in rural areas could be shaped in the future. For example, the INYO.Cab developed in the project could act as a feeder to the scheduled services of the Märkische Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG). This would make it possible to realize the future scenario that Thomas Drewes, Head of Autonomous Driving at DB Regio, outlined in his inspiring presentation (more information on the study can be found here). His conclusion: autonomous vehicles can massively improve the quality of public transport, and it is high time to start with corresponding projects.
