The article "Safe Transitions in Complex Systems" was published in the anthology "Climate Change and Safety in High-Risk Industries".

In 2024, Johannes Weyer, together with Corinna Bieder from the University of Toulouse and Gudela Grote from ETH Zurich, published the anthology "Climate Change and Safety in High-Risk Industries" in open access as part of the Safety Management series from SpringerBriefs in Applied Sciences and Technology. The Safety Management series regularly collects research contributions on the management of technological risks and decision-making in "high-stakes settings", taking a transdisciplinary approach from organizational sociology, psychology, economics, law and engineering. This issue is the result of a workshop organized by NeTWork (New Technology and Work), which focused on the tension between climate change and safety in hazardous activities.

Johannes Weyer's own contribution to the anthology (Safe Transitions in Complex Systems) deals with the relationship between safety and sustainability in the context of the transformation of complex systems by introducing agent-based simulation as a means of analyzing complex systems and presenting important simulation results from recent years.
